Trimdon Parish Council welcomed all residents of the parish to the annual Christmas Lights Switch On.
This took place on Friday 4 December 2015 on Trimdon Village Green, next to Mary Magdalene Church, and the official switch-on was carried out by  Ron Hogg, Police and Crime Commissioner. It had been expected that Phil Wilson MP would switch on the lights but was unavailble at the last moment.
