The Trimdon Station display was created by Trimdon Station Community Centre staff and members of their Cree Project. Their young members, who were very upset at not being asked to be part of the other poppy displays, insisted on installing it. This was done under cover of darkness as a surprise for people the next day. (9th November) They were keen to highlight how young some of the soldiers were who were fighting. There was also have a new plaque unveiled that morning within the Centre, where a minutes silence was observed at the original war memorial plaques which are displayed in the Centre.

Volunteers at Trimdon Community College in Trimdon Village decorated St Mary Magdalene village church for Remembrance Sunday. Photos displayed on the gallery are from Sarah Stewart , Amy Stewart and Enza Usher. Anybody is welcome to come and be a volunteer with them on Thursday mornings or with any events they help with. If interested contact manager Annette Donohue.
